PALANPUR: After Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, Asia's largest dairy Banas is all set to set up its plant in Jodhpur in Rajasthan.
The north Gujarat-based dairy union has already started survey and preliminary work to set up the new plant in Rajasthan.
Banas Dairy's chairman Parthi Bhatol said this here on Tuesday while addressing a gathering of representatives of 1,250 village level milk societies at the 47th annual general meeting (AGM).

Bhatol said that the dairy has registered a new record of sorts by paying an average of Rs 682 per kilo fat to milk producers during the year.
"So far, we have paid Rs 590 crore to milk producers while the remaining Rs 900 crore including dividend will be paid to our 3.42 lakh producer members by next month," he said.
Talking about the annual growth that the milk union has registered, Bhatol said that while the national growth rate in milk production stands at four percent, the growth in milk production in Gujarat is around ten percent.
"But we have been able to register 16.13 percent growth last year which is a big achievement," he said.
Banas Dairy's managing director Sanjay Karmchandani, who presented the annual accounts during the AGM, said the district dairy union could achieve the growth rate because of strong economic measures.
"Instead of using three milk trains to supply milk to North India, we have restricted the usage of milk trains to two by just adding special milk containers in the two trains," said Karmchandani.
