After Rajkot Civil, doctors go on strike in Ahmedabad VS, reason same

Doctors in two public hospitals in Gujarat went on strike in two different incidents of clash between doctors and relatives of patients in last 48 hours. The hospitals are Civil hospital in Rajkot and VS hospital in Ahmedabad.
In ward number 10 of Rajkot Civil hospital, a relative of patient slapped a doctor, after which the doctors and other staff members locked up a relative of patient in room and thrashed him badly.
According to police, one Minaben Ketanbhai Pandya(40) was hospitalized after she complained chest pain. She was treated in emergency wing and referred to ward number 10 where according to Yogeshbhai who is son in law of Minaben, the doctor on duty didn’t attend the patient timely. When Yogeshbhai started capturing video of doctor involved in other activities through his mobile phone, the doctor refused to do so. After some verbal argument, Dr Payal Shah, Resident Doctor Mayur Patel and other staff clashed with a relative of patient. While Minaben Pandya filed complaint in Pradyumannagar police station against mob of 20-25 medical/para-medical staff, Dr Mayur Patel filed complaint against relative of patient Yogesh Anantrai Thakar.
135 junior doctors went on strike against “attack on doctor”. The strike is continuing today.
In Ahmedabad, the VS hospital run by Municipal Corporation is witnessing strike of doctors after relatives of a Muslim patient physically fought with a doctor and other staff last night. The incident has been captured in CCTV camera.
