Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana’s christening on Sunday, July 5, will reportedly also be a tribute to the late Princess Diana. It’s believed the church reminds the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, of his beloved mother.

According to Hello Magazine, St. Mary Magdalene Church “holds a special place in Prince William’s heart,” that’s why it was chosen as location for Charlotte’s christening. The 16th-century church in Norfolk is also where Princess Diana, born Lady Diana Spencer, was baptised on August 30, 1961. “The location must have been chosen by William and the Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton, partly as a tribute to his late mother,” the publication stated.

This would count as the second time the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge has paid tribute to the late Princess Diana. Choosing “Diana” for Princess Charlotte’s third name is also another nod to the missed royal.

Now Magazine also noted how Kate Middleton had made a “subtle and touching” tribute to the late Princess Diana at Trooping the Colour. For Queen Elizabeth II’s birthday parade, the Duchess of Cambridge reportedly decided to dress Prince George with the same romper her husband, Prince William, used to wear as a toddler. This act is said to be a nod to the beloved princess.

BBC shared a photo comparison to show the resemblance between the two outfits. According to a Kensington Palace source, the blue romper on Prince George is exactly the same outfit the Duke of Cambridge wore at the 1984 event.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s first official portraits together, taken by the Duchess of Cambridge, were said to be a tribute to Princess Diana as well. According to the site, in the photos Prince George was dressed similarly with how Prince William was dressed when he was a toddler.

According to Now Magazine, Kate Middleton must have been looking at old photos of Prince William and Prince Harry with Princess Diana for inspiration on how to dress her children. “In fact George – who turns two next month – sported a near identical shirt and blue shorts to those worn by Wills when he attended the christening of baby Harry in 1984,” writer Victoria Kennedy said. In the photo, Prince William is seen wearing a near identical blue shorts to what Prince George wore in his portraits with Princess Charlotte.
