JAMMU, July 1: MLA Jammu East Rajesh Gupta kick starts another developmental work in his Constituency with the launching of the up gradation work of the stairs at Vikram Chowk near River Tawi.
This has been a long pending demand of the people of the area and also the people visiting river Tawi for various chores. The cost of the up gradation work is 4.5 lakhs. Rajesh Gupta was accompanied by the senior leader BJP Chander Mohan Sharma and Murari Lal ex Corporator.
Rajesh Gupta also visited Canal Road area, which got inundated under water recently due to heavy down pour. The problem of water logging has plagued this area since long and the people of the area and large number of student population because of a number of colleges in the area, have suffered over the years.
Rajesh Gupta issued on the spot instructions for the widening of the drain in the Canal Road area so that it does not face the problem of clogging at the time of heavy discharge like we saw a few days back. Chief Engineer of the PWD Department Alok Mengi who was accompanying the MLA was issued on the spot instructions to execute the project for the widening of the drain in the shortest possible time.
Other officials who accompanied the MLA Rajesh Gupta included X-En PWD Rajesh Bhagat,AEE Yasir Kitchloo,JMC Health Officer, Dr.Zafar Iqbal and ETO Talat Mohammad. Officers of the JMC were given specific instructions to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the area as the water logging causes lot of debris and filth to accumulate causing foul smell and spread of disease.
The prominent among those who accompanied Rajesh Gupta included Sunil,Raj Kumar,Rajesh Sanju,Rakesh Bhalla, Ashok Lambad, Kuldeep Bargotra, Naresh Pargal, Karan Singh, Manav, Dalip, Balraj, Ramesh, Opinder Singh, Darshan Singh, Arun Manhas,Pritam, Ravi, Brij Lal, Gopal, Amit, Hari Om and Chaman Lal.
