Jaguar cubs released into public display enclosure

Two jaguar cubs, aged about six months, were released in the public display enclosure at the Nehru Zoological Park, here on Wednesday. The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief Wildlife Warden, P.K. Sharma, who released the cubs, named them Piyush and Priya.

Eight litter

According to a press release issued by the zoo, these cubs were born in the zoo to the jaguar pair, Suchi and Salman, and happened to be the eighth litter for Suchi.

New pairs soon

Mr. Sharma said efforts were on to acquire pairs for animals that were alone in the zoo.
