Two engineering college students were killed in an accident at Lakshmi Mills Junction here on Monday night.
The Traffic Investigation Wing police said that the accident involving a government bus took place just before midnight when R. Hariswaran (19), Tarun Kishore (19) and M.M. Syed Mohammed were returning from a cinema theatre near Race Course. Hariswaran, who rode the motorcycle, and Kishore, who was the second pillion rider, died on the spot. Syed sustained injuries.
The bus was on its way from Singanallur to Gandhipuram.
Hariswaran was from Ganathipalayam in Salem, Kishore from Tirunelveli district and Syed Mohammed from Kelambakkam near Chennai. They were third-year students of a college on Avinashi Road.
