In a scathing attack on ruling TRS party supremo KCR and his style of politics, Telangana TDP MLA A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday vowed to “drive KCR’s family out of politics”.

Addressing a rally of his supporters and TDP activists following his release on bail in the cash-for-vote case from the Charlapally central prison, Mr. Reddy announced that “hereafter my only goal in life is to dethrone KCR”. Though the High Court granted conditional bail to the legislator and two other accused the previous day, they were not set free as the order required to be modified.

Hundreds gathered outside the prison by the time his lawyers turned up around 4.30 p.m. with the modified order.

Thanks cadre

Thanking TDP cadre for extending their support, Mr. Reddy made a blistering attack on KCR and some of his Cabinet colleagues while the crowds cheered with shouts and claps.

Indirectly referring to some Telangana Ministers from the city, Nizamabad, Warangal and Medak , he said they had no right to question TDP president and AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Some leaders joined the former having won MLA elections on the TDP ticket, he said.

He challenged them to resign as MLAs and contest again “if they had the guts”. Questioning the role of KCR in securing Telangana state, he wondered aloud: “Then what is the value of over 12,000 martyrs who sacrificed their lives?”. Mr. Reddy maintained that he was implicated in a “false case” for questioning failures of KCR in administration and his corruption.

The legislator said that TRS was already worried as he had come out of prison. “I got bail and KCR got fever”, he quipped as the assembled gathering cheered.

The rally started with a convoy of four-wheelers and two-wheelers decorated with TDP flags and ended at NTR Trust Building in Banjara Hills.
