Remember actor Josh Hartnett from flicks like Halloween H20 and Pearl Harbor? The Minnesota-bred actor, who was quite the teenage dream back in the day, may have faded from the limelight in recent years, although he has resurfaced lately as a star on the scary Showtime drama Penny Dreadful, which just got picked up for a third season. Perhaps his need to be close to Hollywood explains why Hartnett has sold his Midwestern pad at a loss.
Hartnett bought the four-bed, three-bath home in Minneapolis back in 2002, exactly when his star was rising high thanks to a co-starring role with Ben Affleck and Kate Beckinsale in the World War II drama Pearl Harbor. Josh bought the 5,056-square-foot pad, which fuses modern and Victorian styles, for $2.395 million. Unfortunately, the Penny Dreadful star sold at a loss just a couple weeks ago, when the sale closed for $2.3 million.
Built in 1887, the historic property has been brought into the present day with a gourmet kitchen, gym, and swimming pool. Stained-glass windows create stunning streams of light, while exquisite finishes help maintain the historic integrity in an updated home. A large, grassy yard and spacious wine cellar are additional benefits of this lovely home.
Luckily, Josh doesn't have to camp out on the couch in the homes of his former flames any time soon — Kirsten Dunst, Scarlett Johansson, and Julia Stiles, we’re looking at you — since the handsome Midwesterner also owns a property in Manhattan. Gotta keep that real estate portfolio diverse.
