Popular comedian Sharan and actress Hariprriya have come together as the lead pair for the first time in ‘Bullet Basya’. The director has taken a lot of trouble to ensure that both Sharan and Hariprriya appear distinct and complement each other throughout the film.

Hariprriya is clearly excited about the numerous avatars she sports in the film. To begin with, she appears as an Iyengar girl in one scene, belly dancer in another and quickly switches to a retro look in yet another scene.

“It’s a romantic comedy and I had to wear a serious look throughout the film. It isn’t easy to keep a straight face when you are acting with Sharan because he makes you laugh all the time,” she states.

She says that the director has created three different sets to portray three sequences in the film. “The first set was created to resemble a Brahmin colony, the Arabian dance sequence was shot in an artificially created desert-like atmosphere and the third had a retro feel to it,” she narrates.

Most of the songs in the film were shot on these sets and one or two were shot in Bangkok as well.

Sharing her thoughts about the looks in the film, Hariprriya says that this is the first time she is wearing a nose ring. “I've never worn a nose ring before and it has made a lot of difference to my appearance,” she says.

There are also portions where she wears colourful half-saris that were specially made for the film.

Hariprriya and her co-star Sharan have come a long way. “Sharan and I have known each other for a long time. He began as a comedian but he has really worked his way to becoming a hero and he’s good at what he does,” she feels.

Dancing is an integral part of an actor’s life and Hariprriya says she trained in free-style dancing and that has helped her slip into just about any style of dance.

“When I was asked to do a belly dance, it didn’t take me too long to pick up the steps. The director has given me the opportunity to play around with my look and each one of us was given the freedom to contribute to the script,” she sums up.
