A G-Unit rapper was arrested before he took the stage at a Manhattan club Tuesday night, law enforcement sources said.
Curtis Stewart, also known as Kidd Kidd, was nabbed at the XXL 2015 Freshman Class concert at the Best Buy theater after he allegedly choked his model girlfriend Maurita Robinson back in February, sources said.
Cops have been on the hunt for the 31-year-old rapper since he got into a heated argument with Robinson on Feb. 22 at the Element Hotel, sources said. Stewart allegedly grabbed her by the neck and started to strangle her, sources said.
He was cuffed near the Hammerstein Ballroom around 9:20 p.m. Tuesday and faces strangulation and assault charges.
“@kiddkiddrg got arrested tonight so G-Unit is performing on his behalf #XXLFreshmen @50cent @lloydbanks @tonyyayo @buckshotz,” XXL wrote on Instagram with a photo of the rap crew on stage.
This isn’t Stewart’s first run-in with the law. In June 2011, two masked men shot into his car parked outside his mom’s house in New Orleans more than 30 times. He was hit by six of the bullets.
