Ministers Ch Lal Singh, Ch Sukhnandan and Priya Sethi, flanked by MLAs Jammu East and West, Rajesh Gupta and Sat Sharma, Wednesday flagged off the first batch of Shri AmarnathJi Yatra from Bhagwati Nagar base camp.A total 1126 Yatris, in 34 vehicles including 154 Sadhus left for the Pilgrimage to holy Cave Shrine through Pahalgam and Baltal routes. The batch comprised 919 males and 191 females and 16 children.Interacting with the pilgrims and media, the Ministers said adequate arrangements have been made for smooth conduct of the Yatra. “Administration is fully geared up to provide medicare, safe drinking water etc to the Yatris at base camps as well as enroute” the Ministers said.Praying for smooth and safe Yatra, the Ministers said the pilgrims have to brave tough and inclement weather conditions during the Yatra, so to avoid an outward incident, only registered and medically fit people would be allowed to undertake the pilgrimage.
