Yogi’s next is a film on gambling
Loose Maada Yogi has been missing in action for a while, despite having had several film announcements. As it turns out, some of these did not take off, including Obiraya, which was to have been his 25th film. “There were some issues with Obiraya, and, hence, it did not start, while another film, Jhanda, was called off after the producer passed away. But I should be back onscreen soon with Bhagyaraj and Prachanda,” says Yogi, who had taken some time off after surgery on a deviated septum.
The in-production Snake Naga will now be his 25th film.
The actor has now signed up for a new film called Bazar, to be directed by Harish, which he says is a fictional account about gambling and betting. “A bulk of the film will be shot at night, to give a realistic feel to illegal gambling activities that the youth get into,” says the actor, who begins shooting for it on July 10. He will be paired with a Mumbai-import, debutante Priya Nair.
“By September, I will begin work on my Kollywood debut, to be directed by Samuthirakani,” says Yogi.
