YouTube now supports 60fps videos for iOS and Android apps

Starting today, YouTube users on iOS and Android can stream videos at 60fps. Given that the company already offers the 60fps videos for YouTube on desktop platform, the launch of the feature for mobile apps was anyway on the cards. With the high frame rate of 60fps, YouTube will offer a better visual experience to the viewers, specially gamers.

YouTube on Android and iOS now stream video at 60fps

Google's YouTube service also offers 60fps video support for Apple TV as well as for Sony's PlayStation 3 and 4 gaming consoles. The company is offering 60fps in HD (720p) resolution and in FHD (1080p). In addition to that it has also added support for 60fps video in 4k resolution.

Since this feature has been added in the server itself, users will not require updating the apps in order to watch higher frame rate videos.
