BHOPAL: A day after TOI reported death of Amit Sagar, who was a student of Mhow Veterinary College and a suspect in the MPPEB scam case, his parents living in Sheopur district have demanded an independent inquiry into the matter. They said Amit’s name was dragged in the scam to save those who are actually involved in the matter.
"Police came to our house a few days ago to match his handwriting but I am sure he was not involved.
Now I want an independent inquiry into this matter," Amit's father Ramlal Sagar told media.
Ramlal Sagar is a patwari in Sheopur district. Amit's body was found floating in a cannel in the district on February 18, 2015. The matter of his death surfaced after special investigation team (SIT) Balaghat reached his house to arrest him for his alleged role in rigging results of forest guard recruitment exam.
The incident took place on February 18, but his death came to light on Monday.
Police sources said Sagar was a suspect and was pursuing a post-graduation course in animal husbandry from Mhow College.
