In Mumbai, 21-year-old woman assaulted for not sharing mobile number

A 21-year-old woman near Ulhasnagar near Mumbai was assaulted by road romeos for allegedly not sharing her mobile number with them.

The woman was going to her college when four men in their twenties accosted her near Gol Maidan area and began asking her mobile number. Her attempts to ignore and spurn them turned futile. She called up her father for help. When her father arrived and tried to discourage the eve-teasers, they turned violent. The father was brutally assaulted by the four.

Meanwhile, the woman who tried to intervene was assaulted with an knife by one of the eve-teasers. Fortunately, family members and friends came to the rescue of the woman and her father. They managed to overpower two of the eve-teasers and handed them to the police. Senior police inspector of UIhasnagar police station Kishor Jadhav said that two persons have been arrested and police are in the lookout for two more who are absconding
