Host of programmes planned for launch of Digital India Week

The Postal department will host programmes on financial inclusion, education and public grievances in connection with the launch of Digital India Week from July 1 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Melas

Special melas for opening savings accounts are proposed on July 2 at the head post offices in Puducherry, Tindivanam, Villupuram and Gingee. Melas for opening PLI ((Postal Life Insurance) or RPLI (Rural PLI) accounts will be held at sub offices at Bahour, Kiliyanur, Kedar and Gingee.

On July 3, visits by school children will take place for savings bank at head post offices in Villupuram, Mudaliarpet, Dhanvantri Nagar, Tindivanam and Gingee and for PLI/RPLI at sub post offices at Kedar, Bahour, Marakkanam, Kiliyanur and Gingee.

Special camp

On July 4, a special camp will be held for linking of existing SB accounts, savings certificates and PLI/RPLI policies with Aadhar number and mobile numbers.

This has been scheduled for savings bank accounts at Kamala Nagar, Mailam, Nettapakkam and PLI/RPLI at Kandamanadi, Mailam and Nettapakkam.

July 6 has been reserved specifically for interactions with potential e-commerce visitors while a customer meet on grievances has been scheduled at the office of the SSPOs on the concluding day (July 7).
