The Kannur University Staff Organisation (KUSO) has said that the move to create a new university by bifurcating the Calicut University is unscientific and will put heavy financial burden on the State government.
KUSO president Haridasan E.K. and Jayan Chalil have said in a statement here on Tuesday that the area of jurisdiction of the Calicut University includes Kozhikode, Malappuram, Thrissur and Palakkad districts and the Wayanad district excluding the Mananthavady taluk, while the Kannur University’s area of jurisdiction is in the Kannur and Kasaragod districts and the Mananthavady taluk.
