The Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) in India and Bangladesh has condemned the terror attacks that killed 55 people in France, Kuwait and Tunisia, calling the perpetrators “miscreants” out to defame Islam.
While the JeI in India has said the outfits are hatching “a conspiracy” against Islam, its counterpart in Bangladesh has called the miscreants “perverts.”
The Aameer-e-Jamaat (Chief of Jamaat) in India, Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umari, said the attacks on the mosques in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia were part of a conspiracy to defame Islam.
“It is a conspiracy to create unrest in these countries [Kuwait, France and Tunisia] and to achieve the nefarious goal of defaming Islam by linking Muslims to terrorism,” he said.
He said the attacks were part of “imperialist and Zionist plots.”
Maqbul Ahmed, the acting chief of the Jamaat-e-Islami in Bangladesh, said the militants who had carried out the attacks were of “perverted mentality.”
“The miscreants who are often allegedly carrying out these attacks use the name of Islam… In this regard, our view is clear: Islam never supports such violent attacks,” he said, appealing to these countries to take firm action against the perpetrators. “If these attackers are tried, no one will dare to carry out such attacks again,” he said.
