Congress felicitates Pratapgarh brothers

LUCKNOW: Congress functionaries handed over two cheques of Rs 50,000 each to Saroj brothers Raju and Brijesh at their house in Rehua Lalganj in Pratapgarh district on Monday. The cheques followed a congratulatory message and phone call from vice president Rahul Gandhi soon after the brothers’ story of struggle hit national headlines. During his phone call with the brothers, Rahul had also promised them monetary assistance from the Congress quarters.On Monday, representatives of the Youth Congress, Srinivasan, reached Raju and Brijesh’s village, accompanied by Congress’ Rampur Khas MLA Aradhana Mishra. They also handed over two cheques of Rs 50,000 each to both brothers towards securing an admission in the IIT of their choice.
