Trivendra Singh Panwar, central president of the Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (Panwar), today alleged a recruitment scam in the state transport corporation (STC).
Addressing mediapersons at a press conference held here today, Panwar said state transport corporation officials had flouted norms in the appointment of drivers and conductors.
He alleged that about 70 posts of driver and conductor at the Kathgodam depot were filled against an advertisement published in 2008. The candidates were from Uttar Pradesh and other states but they failed to submit the domicile certificates.
Panwar said the STC did not appoint unemployed youths from the state on the vacant posts. He urged the government to immediately quash the appointments else the UKD would hold a statewide protest.
