MANGALURU: Dakshina Kannada district administration will hold 'Digital India Week' from July 1 to 7.
In an order to create participative and transparent government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be launching the much ambitious Digital India programme in New Delhi on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the initiative will also be launched in Dakshina Kannada with the same objectives.

Deputy commissioner A B Ibrahim said initiatives will taken to provide information on various state and central government schemes during the week-long programme. "We will make necessary arrangements to providing information on state and central government schemes in all taluk and district centres. Arrangements will be made for public to view Prime Minister's inaugural ceremony through TVs in taluk and district centres," he said.
Taluk centres will provide information related to various digital services provided in Atalji Janasnehi Kendras and gram panchayats. The central government also will launch 'Digital wellness online challenge', an online quiz, for students from class 6 to 12. Students may log on to www.digitalindia.gov.in to take part in the quiz competition, Ibrahim said.
