Syrian regime barrel bomb attacks killed 20 people and injured at least 80 others in Idlib, northeast Syria, and Douma, a city to the east of the capital Damascus, according to humanitarian and local sources.

At least 10 people, including women and children, were killed by Syrian regime barrel bomb attacks targeting a market in northwestern Syria, the Syria Civil Defense said Tuesday.

The Syria Civil Defense is a politically impartial group of humanitarian workers helping those in need in the war-torn country.

An official from the group, Mustafa Al-Fadhil, confirmed that Syrian military helicopters dropped barrel bombs on a market located in the Jabal al-Zawiya area, 40 km (25 miles) southwest of the provincial capital Idlib.

At least 10 people were killed and 20 others injured during the attack, with many buildings also being heavily damaged, he added.

Separately, at least 10 people were killed and 60 others injured in other barrel bomb attacks conducted by regime forces on Tuesday in the rebel-held area of Douma, northeast of the capital Damascus, according to local sources.
