Unidentified persons murdered a shepherd, B. Kistaiah (55), at Momimpet bus stand in Ranga Reddy district early on Sunday. Kistaiah, who lives with his family at Shankerpally, went to the cattle fare the previous day and did not return. On Sunday morning, his body was found near the bus stand. “It appears that some persons have attacked him with sharp objects resulting in his death,” Inspector Mominpet, A.P. Ranga, said.
Woman held for drunken driving
The Banjara Hills traffic police on Saturday night caught a woman for allegedly driving in an inebriated state. The traffic police were conducting a drunken driving check at Banjara Hills Road No. 12. They stopped an Audi car in which two women were travelling. “Initially, they did not cooperate with us. A breath analyser test showed that the driver had a 57 mg BAC for 100 ml of blood,” Inspector, Banjara Hills, C. Uma Maheshwar Rao said. The police seized the car and asked the driver to appear before the court. A total of 18 cases were booked by the traffic police during the drive.
Cordon and search operation
A cordon and search operation was conducted by the Cyberabad police at Vajpayeenagar in Petbasheerabad on Saturday night. About 200 policemen under the supervision of T.V. Shashidhar Reddy conducted a door-to-door search operation and detained 18 persons for failing to provide identification documents. About 14 vehicles were seized by the police teams.
Cheating case against training institute
A group of 10 job aspirants approached the S.R. Nagar police complaining that the management of a software training institute failed to provide them ‘job placement’ after collecting huge sum of money from them. The youth, who hail from different districts of the State, undertook six-month training at the institute in various courses. Each of them paid between Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 45,000 as fee. “They charged that the management promised to help them secure job after completion of the course, but failed to do so. A cheating case has been registered against the management and investigation is on,” Inspector, S.R. Nagar, G.V. Ramana Goud said.
Assault case against lecturer
A lecturer reportedly assaulted a student at a private college at Miyapur on Sunday during internal examination. Md Samad, who is pursuing MPC first year, came to the college in the morning to attend the test.
The teenager told us that his Mathematics lecturer scolded him and slashed his hand with a pen resulting in bleeding, the Miyapur police said.
On a complaint made by the boy’s parents, the Miyapur police registered a case under Section 324 (hurt) of Indian Penal Code against the lecture and are investigating.
