INDORE: Continuing to act against negligence and lacklustre attitude of civic body employees, municipal commissioner Manish Singh on Monday suspended control room in charge of Indore municipal commissioner and issued notice to controller of the department.
This is the third time in last one-and-half-months when IMC has suspended and issued notices to its employee for failure to perform their duty.

Virendra Pathrod, who was working as IMC’s control room in charge was suspended and controller of the department Abhay Rathod issued notice for negligence under provision of Madhya Pradesh Civil Service Rules 1996.
Coming to know about fire at Lasudia Compound on June 27 midnight, municipal commissioner Singh had called Pathrod on his mobile, but neither did he answer his call nor revert to it.
Later, IMC deputy commissioner Devendra Singh called up zonal offices of civic body only to be informed that there is lack of water tankers in Indore Municipal Corporation.
“Unavailability of civic official in their office and absence of sufficient water tankers created problem in dousing fire,” said a civic official, adding that timely action could have averted major damage.
“A day after the incident, Singh on late June 28 evening, again made a call to IMC control room and after getting no response suspended Pathrod with immediate effect,” said a civic official.
Department controller was also issued show-cause notices for negligence. Earlier, municipal commissioner had acted against official of electricity department and birth and marriage certificate department of IMC for negligence in work.
