Counselling for admission to the MBBS course at Annamalai University will be held from July 1, while counselling for admission to the BDS will be held from July 2 onwards. A total of 5,940 applications have been received for MBBS course and 1,438 applications have been received for BDS course, said a press release from the university.
Admission will be made on the basis of merit by following rule of reservation of the Government of Tamil Nadu, it said.
Three per cent of the total seats available are reserved for differently-abled persons as per norms laid down by the government, it said.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,965 candidates were called for counselling held on June 27 and 28 for admission to various Bachelor of Engineering courses at the university. A. Ravikaran from Gingee was selected under the differently-abled category.
