Relatives of accident victim block road

Relatives of an accident victim blocked the NH-209 (Sathy Main Road) for about two-and-a-half hours on Monday after a 43-year-old man was killed in an accident. The victim M. Sundaramoorthi (43) from Kariyampalayam, near Annur, was returning home when the accident took place.

Annur Police said that the man was an electrician in a private mill and was returning after work to his house on Ellapalayam Junction when the bus from Coimbatore to Sathyamangalam hit him from behind. Agitated over the incident, his relatives blocked the road, damaged the windshield of the bus and flattened its tyres, seeking arrest of the driver.

Found dead

The bodies of M. Sumithira (22) and R. Vadivel alias Balakrishnan (32), both from Velayuthampalayam near Kinathukadavu, were found in a decomposed state in the well belonging to Vadivel’s father, on Sunday.
