ISI plans to offer course on Lean Six Sigma management

The Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) along with Six Sigma and Advanced Controls Inc.USA and Universal Peace Foundation, Thirumurthi Hills, has proposed to offer a course on Lean Six Sigma for Wholesome Excellence.

COIMBATORE: The Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) along with Six Sigma and Advanced Controls Inc. USA and Universal Peace Foundation, Thirumurthi Hills, has proposed to offer a course on Lean Six Sigma for Wholesome Excellence. The ISI on Monday celebrated the National Statistics Day at the Sardar Vallabhai Patel International School for Textile Management.
A Rajagopal, head of ISI, Coimbatore, said, "We have been running a training programme for corporate houses and executives during the weekends. There were many who volunteered to participate in the training. This made me realize that there is a need for a full-fledged training in Six Sigma," he said.
"We are willing to offer our full support to make the programme a success. Such initiatives are essential to fine tune business methodologies," said D Nandhakumar, president of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
A workshop on achieving breakthrough quality was organized during which participants presented papers on healthcare, education, manufacturing, automobiles, Swachch Bharat and other industrial sectors.
The workshop was inaugurated by Dr G Bhaktavatsalam, chairman, KG Group, D Nandhakumar, president, Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore, Dr Appusamy, chairman, Dr Nalini, Sakthi Group of Institutions, Tirupur and Dharapuram and Ramesh Kumar, director, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International School of Textiles.
