Mohanlal says yes to Jibu Jacob’s next
Mohanlal is an actor who tries his best to avoid stereotypes and takes extra caution not to get trapped by the lure of larger-than-life characters. Even after decades of being in the industry, he remains as a doting son, loving husband, and a super-hero for the common man. And we hear, the Superstar will soon don an 'Aam- Aadmi’ kind of role in Jibu Jacob’s upcoming movie, scripted by Sindhuraj.
Apparently, the thread for the yet- to –be titled project is inspired from a short story Pranayopanishad written by V.J. James.
When contacted, Jibu says, “Only the narrative thread is based on the short story. Otherwise, everything is different. Mohanlal will play the role of a common man, whom the audience can easily relate to someone they know in their life. In fact, the project is in its nascent stage, and we are yet to confirm the other cast and crew.”
The one-film old director is quite excited to rope in the Superstar in his second venture, “Lalettan was quite impressed with the storyline and he gave an immediate nod to be part of the film. We can’t think of casting anybody other than Mohanlal for the role.” Apparently, the movie, which is laced with realistic instances, revolves around the relationship between a husband and wife. Jibu Jacob’s maiden venture was Vellimoonga, a political satire starring Biju Menon and it was a block office hit.
So, quiz the director as to what genre, the movie can be slotted, he says “Though I love to watch all kinds of movies, I would prefer to frame movies with realistic story lines. In fact, it would reflect the life of people around us and the incidents the audience should be able to relate to,” he signs off.
