ABC News chief meteorologist Ginger Zee is forecasting a little ray of sunshine in her future.
Zee, 34, announced on “Good Morning America” that she and her husband of a year, NBC’s Ben Aaron, are expecting their first child.
The adventurous “GMA” correspondent has been filmed paragliding over the Andes and scuba diving with sharks, but the Michigan native — who married NBC correspondent Aaron last June — admitted motherhood is uncharted terrain.
“This is the most nervous I’ve been in a while,” Zee admitted.
She added, “All of the other adventures promise you a return home. [Motherhood] is when you get home, the adventure is there. It’s so emotional for me and I’ll do anything, but this scares me!”
The expectant mother told “GMA” co-hosts Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos Monday she anticipates taking a six-week maternity leave.
Following her televised announcement, Zee tweeted a photo of a sonogram alongside the caption, “We can’t wait! Baby Zee/Aaron is forecast to join us in December. @ben_aaron.”
