It was when Sunil Dutt offered him the role of a villain in the movie Rocky that he thought the name 'Sunil Kapoor' was not villainous enough. So he went ahead to rename himself 'Shakti Kapoor'.

2. Naada Shakti, FTW! He sailed through the 80’s era of “Star Kids” on the power of his Naada!

When the 80s were flooded with every film-maker trying to launch a new 'star kid', not for a second could it dampen Shakti Kapoor’s spirit of giving his best into films that came in his kitty! Forget Naari Shakti because naada-shakti was the best thing ever!

3. His transition from being the most sought after to villain to the most hilarious actor in  the 90s was a smooth one.

In no time, he managed to become every film-maker’s first choice for negative roles. This trend continued for more than two decades before he made a transition by playing some cool comic roles, including David Dhawan’s Raja Babu where he was applauded for playing the character of Nandu.

4. Dialogues from his films became way more popular than the movies themselves!

Who could have pulled off a ‘Crime Master Gogo’ in Andaz Apna Apna, Batuknath in Chaalbaaz and Goonga in Bol Radha Bol better than him? The most iconic dialogues "Aaaooo Lolita", "Main nanha sa chotta sa bachcha hoon" and "Nandu sabka bandhu, samajhta nahi hai yaar" are still as funny as they were decades ago!

5. He has acted in 700+ movies!
