Javier Chicharito Hernandez future in further doubt as Manchester United star poses in Real Madrid new kit

The future of Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez Chicharito at Old Trafford is under fresh scrutiny after the Mexican international appeared in an advertisement wearing the Real Madrid new kit for the 2015-16 campaign.

The striker spent last season on loan at the Santiago Bernabeu after United manager Louis van Gaal decided to part ways with him following the arrival of Radamel Falcao to the club.

But after the Mexico international struggled to secure regular time during his time at the La Liga giants, the player himself confirmed earlier this month that Real Madrid had opted against activating a clause to secure his services on a permanent move.

"Now I'm with Manchester United. Madrid did not activate the option to buy me," Hernandez told Spanish newspaper AS on 7 June although refusing to rule out a return to La Liga: "If Madrid want me next season they will have to fight with other clubs that want me."

Speculation about his future has since increased with van Gaal expected to bolster his attack further during the summer transfer window.

While AS recently reported that Liverpool, Juventus and Inter Milan are monitoring his situation, Mexico's manager surprised everyone last week when during a press conference explained he had not included Hernandez in the Copa America and the Gold Cup squad because they didn't know whether he still belonged to United or Real Madrid.

"We didn't know who to speak to about Chicharito playing in the Copa América and the Gold Cup. At that moment Javier was focused on Real Madrid," Herrera said.

And the rumours about Hernandez's future has now undergone a further twist after AS showed a video with the Mexico international wearing the Real Madrid shirt alongside Toni Kroos, Alvaro Arbeloa and Keylor Navas.

And the surprising thing that has sparked the rumours in Spain about a potential return to the Santiago Bernabeu is the fact that the Mexico international is wearing the Real Madrid 2015-16 kit which the club just unveiled on 15 June.
