TV tonight: 'Dance,' HBO Larry Kramer film
So You Think You Can Dance
Fox, 8 ET/PT
It's not exactly fair to say the changes Fox made to TV's best talent show are what's driving the ratings down. But it's safe to say the new format and judging panel haven't exactly caught fire. For Dance's sake, let's hope that begins to turn around tonight, as the contest moves to Las Vegas for its first round of callbacks.
Larry Kramer: In Love and Anger
HBO, 9 ET/PT
This film from Jean Carlomusto chronicles the life of one of the great writers and agitators of our age, Larry Kramer: author, playwright, screenwriter (Women in Love and — infamously or belovedly, take your pick — the musical Lost Horizon), and gay activist who helped found the Gay Men's Health Crisis and ACT-UP. As Kramer himself acknowledged in his best known work, the semi-autobiographical The Normal Heart, he's a man whose anger alienated many. But it helped save the lives of many more.
The Whispers
ABC, 10 ET/PT
Fresh off their nuclear meltdown reunion, Claire tries to get Sean to talk about their past while Lena tries to get Minx to stop talking to Drill. To which one can only say, good luck with that.
