Chicago Cubs put Wada back on DL

The Chicago Cubs have placed pitcher Tsuyoshi Wada on the 15-day disabled for the second time this season, with the left-hander now dealing with shoulder inflammation.

Additionally, reliever Neil Ramirez was activated from the 15-day DL and will be available for Sunday's game against St. Louis.

Wada missed his scheduled start Saturday against the Cardinals and exited his previous outing after only two innings due to a cramp in his shoulder.

The Japanese veteran began the season on the DL with a groin injury before being activated on May 19. Wada compiled a 1-1 record with a 3.73 ERA in seven starts following his return.

Ramirez has been sidelined since April 15 by shoulder inflammation. The 26- year-old had a strong rookie season with the Cubs in 2014, posting a 1.44 ERA and three saves in 50 appearances and striking out 53 over 43 2/3 innings.
