Ex-cop arrested on charge of stealing files

The Nadakkavu police, on Sunday, arrested a terminated policeman on the charges of stealing some of the important files from the Land Tribunal office at the Civil Station.

C. Praveen, the accused, was arrested after the lost documents were recovered from his house at Kunnamangalam during a raid.

The police recovered two of the lost files from his house along with two passports. One of the passports was found fake. He was later taken to the Civil Station premises for collecting more evidence.

It was on June 25 that the files were found missing from the Land Tribunal office.

According to the police, the accused entered the record room after breaking the lock.
