An accused in the murder of P. Sunitha (25) on December 30, 2007, at Palladam, surrendered before a judicial magistrate court in Tiruchi.

Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar Singh said that the district police had now taken the accused, K. Krishnamoorthy (27), who is the nephew of Sunita’s husband, into custody, and recovered the jewellery stolen from Sunitha after the murder.

“The accused had kept the jewellery and some stolen cash with a jeweller in Tiruchi,” he said. After murdering Sunitha, the accused went at large and was working in construction sites in Chengalpet, said Mr. Singh.
