Congress pays tribute to P.V. Narasimha Rao

Congress party leaders and activists paid rich floral tributes to late Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao on his 94th birth anniversary here on Sunday.

District Congress Committee (DCC) president Naini Rajender Reddy, town Congress president T. Vidyasagar, former Mayor E. Swarna, B. Prabhakar Reddy, Namindla Srinivas, E.V. Srinivas and others recalled the life and works of P.V. Narasimha Rao.

They described him an architect of modern India and father of economic reforms. “Our beloved leader Mr. Narasimha Rao took bold decisions when the country was at crossroads on economic front. He teamed up with the best of the talent and went ahead taking the country forward,” the DCC president, Mr. Rajender Reddy, said.

They further said it was because of Mr. Narasimha Rao that many international companies came to India and brought the technology to common man. “Without his government, it would have taken some more decades for the common man to have a cellular phone or internet and modern gadgets,” Mr. Namindla Srinivas said. The Congress leaders pledged to carry forward the ideology and works of late Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao for the benefit of future generations.

People from different walks of life and leaders of various political parties garlanded the statue of late former Prime Minister near Hanamkonda bus station.
