The penultimate day of the eight-day Poornojwala Monsoon Fest 2015 brought most of the Kathakali veshams on stage with Sree Rama Pattabhishekam, making it a visual treat for Kathakali lovers.
The attakatha by Kottarathil Sankunni is rarely performed as Kathakali because it involves the participation of about 30 artistes.
Pattabhishekam Kathakali performance is a yearly event at the Irinjalakuda Koodalmanikya Temple festival, where the presiding deity is Bharathan, the younger brother of Sree Rama in the legend of Ramayana.
The Monsoon Fest organised by Veda Dhwani Cultural Trust came to an end on Sunday with a Mohiniyattam performance by Neena Prasad and a Pandimelam. Earlier, Ottanthullal, Thayambaka and the valedictory function were held.
Odissi by Dona Ganguly, Carnatic music by Nityashree Mahadevan, Hindustani concert by Savani Shinde, Koodiyattam and Trithayambaka led by Mattannur Sankarankutty were among the highlights of the festival.
