Humidity makes Delhi sweat, no respite likely

Though South-West monsoon has reached the Capital nearly a week ahead of schedule, but apart from the first two days it has not brought any rain to the city.

It has, however, managed to raise humidity levels, leaving Delhiites to deal with high temperatures, sweat and discomfort. No heavy rain is predicted in the region in the next five days.

It was another hot and humid day in the Capital on Sunday, with the Meteorological Department recording a maximum temperature of 39 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season’s average, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 27 degrees Celsius.

The humidity oscillated between 43 per cent and 72 per cent.

According to the forecast for Monday, overcast conditions will prevail along with possibilities of light rain in some parts of the Capital. Partly cloudy skies are likely to remain for the next five days as well with very light rain/thundershowers in some areas on June 30 and July 1.

The temperatures are expected to settle at 26 degrees Celsius and 38 degrees Celsius.
