Murder cuffs on woman, lover near Kolkata

BARASAT: A newly married woman and her paramour were arrested on Sunday in connection with the brutal murder of her 55-year-old mother-in-law at Basirhat in North 24-Parganas.
Police suspect that the victim, Malina Ghosh, was murdered after she came to know about the illegal affair of her 26-year-old daughter-in-law Dimpi Ghosh.
Police said that Dimpi and her paramour hired a contract killer to kill Malina, who was hacked to death near her residence at Nehalpur in Basirhat on June 23.
Around 10.30pm on Tuesday, Malina went to a nearby tube well to collect water, where the assailants pounced on her and slit her throat with a sharp weapon. The killers also chopped her repeatedly to ensure her death, before fleeing the spot. Locals rushed Malina to Basirhat Sub-Divisional Hospital where she was declared brought dead.
Malina objected to Dimpi's extra-marital affair with a local youth, identified as Netai Das, said a source inthe police.
Malina's son Nirmal married Dimpi barely three months ago. Dimpi and Netai were produced in a Basirhat court and were remanded in six-days' police custody.
Police suspect that Dimpi Ghosh and her lover Netai Das planned to kill her mother-in-law Malina Ghosh after she came to know about their affair
