GHAZIABAD: A 55-year-old private security guard was found dead with his throat slit in Tulsi Niketan on Sunday morning. The victim, identified as Jaipal, was found dead in his Portacabin at a construction site in Koel Enclave.
No FIR has been lodged, though a general diary entry has been made at the Sahibabad police station. Police sent the body for post-mortem, the results of which are awaited.
Cops said they will register a case under appropriate sections after receiving the autopsy report.
Jaipal's replacement called cops at around 8 am soon after discovering the dead body, when he reached to take over from him for the morning shift.
Police said Jaipal was a resident of Baghpat. "A sharp object had been used to pierce Jaipal's throat. We discovered leftovers of food and a few liquor bottles in the porta cabin. It indicates the assailants were known to him and had perhaps dined with him before killing him. A broken liquor bottle was also found at the spot, a glass piece from which had probably been used to slit his throat," said a cop.
