Minor girl found murdered, Rewari cops suspect rape

The naked body of a minor girl was found lying in bushes near Maalpur village on the National Highway-8 here today. The police suspect that she was raped before her murder.

The body bearing multiple injury marks has been kept in the mortuary of the General Hospital for identification. The victim’s age was believed to be around 12 years.

The Dharuhera police have booking unidentified persons in a case of murder. A new dress has also been recovered from the spot. No clue to the killer has been found yet.

The incident came to the fore when some villagers spotting the body. The immediately informed the village sarpanch who later called the police. Though the body was kept on the spot for over half-an hour, it could not be identified . It was later sent to the hospital.

Preliminary investigation suggests that a sharp-edged weapon used in the crime. The victim’s pictures have been sent to nearby police stations/posts for identification,said Brahamjit, investigating officer.
