Shri Lakshmi Narayan Temple, Gandhi Nagar, will soon have a Sri Yantra temple. The Yantra, made of nine metals, including gold, was got made from Jaipur (Rajasthan) and will be installed shortly. The temple will have idols of ‘nuvagrahs’ (nine planets).

A meeting of Shri Lakshmi Narayan Temple Management Trust was held to review the ongoing improvement works. It was chaired by G S Charak, president of the Trust.

Instructions have been issued to expedite the work on the temple and complete it by August this year. “Over Rs 10 lakh had been spent on it last year and a provision of Rs 15 lakh has been made in the current year’s Budget for its completion,” a statement issued by the Trust said.

The Trust further said one of the priests was deputed at Haridwar for special training in worshipping Sri Yantra.

The Trust also decided to renovate the temple complex, including its peripheral grill, replace broken and defaced marbles of pillars, besides the central plaza and painting of all temples.

The meeting also finalised the arrangements to celebrate Krishan Janamashtami on September 5. It urged all members of the Trust and residents of Gandhi Nagar to participate in a Shobha Yatra being taken out every year on the eve of Janamashtami.
