The Army’s Romeo Force saved the life of an 18-year-old woman in Rajouri by providing her timely medical aid and then evacuating her to the nearest hospital for specialised treatment.

“Halda Begum, wife of Mohammed Yusuf of Soanti, a remote border village of Rajouri, was brought to the medical inspection room of an Army unit on Friday evening in an unconscious state by her husband in a makeshift cot,” Defence spokesperson Lt Col Manish Mehta said.

“The patient was unresponsive and unconscious when she reached here and was immediately examined and given first-aid. Yusuf informed that his wife was unconscious for the past one hour. She was administered life-saving drugs, including IV drips, to support her vital system,” he said.

She was later evacuated in an ambulance with a nursing assistant to the Government Primary Health Centre, Keri, he added.
