Pratham bags second title of season

In the semifinal Pratham defeated citymate and third seed Aum Upadhyay of GMC International School. In the other semifinal Buranudin defeated unseeded Smitraj Gohil of Bhavnagar.

AHMEDABAD: Local boy and second-seeded Pratham Madlani of Birla Higher Secondary School Porbandar claimed the consecutive second cadet boys title of the season when he defeated fourth seed Buranudin Malubhai of Surat 11-5, 11-5, 11-8, 7-11, 11-9 at the Rizwan Adatiya Foundation 2nd Open Gujarat Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament which is currently underway at Sadar Patel Sports Complex in Porbandar.

In the cadet girls final second seed Kavisha Patel of Bhavnagar defeated fourth seed Charmi Patel, also of Bhavnagar, in six games 8-11, 14-12, 11-8, 11-8, 10-12, 11-5 to win the title. Top seeded Namna Jaiswal conceded her semifinal match against Charmi while Kavisha got the better of Tanya Purohit 11-4, 11-6, 9-11, 11-8.
In the sub-junior boys final top seed Manush Shah of Vadodara, who missed the first tournament at Godhra due to the Indian junior probables camp, trounced second seed Soham Pandya of Bhavnagar 11-9, 11-9, 11-4, 8-11, 11-8 for the title. In the semifinal Manush defeated Chitrax Bhatt 11-5, 11-3, 9-11, 11-3, 14-12 and Soham got the better of Dhairya Parmar 15-13 , 9-11, 14-12, 5-11, 11-7, 11-4.
Manush bagged the double crown when he won the junior boys title again defeating Soham Pandya 12-10, 11-7, 11-5, 5-11, 11-7 in the final. In the semifinal Manush defeated Harshil Kothari 13-11, 12-10, 11-4, 11-8 and Soham edged past Kaushal Bhatt 11-6, 12-10, 11-4, 11-4.
In the sub-junior girls final top seed Sanskruti Malpani of Surat will clash second seed Fagun Bhatt of Bhavnagar.
