NMC plans computerization of TDR generation and utilisation data in the city
NASHIK: The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) is planning to computerize data relating to generation and utilization of Transfer of Development Rights (TDR) in a bid to get the present status of TDR in a single click.
Speaking to TOI, an NMC official said, “At present, we don’t have data on how much of the TDR is generated and utilised in the limits of the municipal corporation.
Hence, we are planning to computerise data pertaining to TDR generation and utilisation. This will help us get the current status of TDR at one click.”
The land is reserved for the civic body for providing various civic amenities like road, gardens and playgrounds for the public. The civic body acquires land by either paying the cost of the land to the owners, or against TDR. It cost crores of rupees to the civic body if it opts for the former option. But the civic body can get the land free of cost if it is acquired against TDR. At present, 1 TDR is permissible (while acquiring the land), which is so less that the land holders and farmers do not agree to surrender their land to the civic body.
