NASHIK: Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday expressed satisfaction over the infrastructure works taken up in view of the forthcoming Kumbh Mela.
On his way to the city from Ozar airport in the afternoon, Fadnavis paid surprise visits to Sadhugram, ghats, parking and roads among other spots.
During a Kumbh Mela review meeting of all the government officials, various departments showcased their preparations through power point presentations to the chief minister, guardian minister Girish Mahajan, officiating chief secretary P S Mina, secretary of urban development Manisha Mhaiskar, MPs Harischandra Chavan and Hemant Godse, MLA Seema Hiray and others.

“The works are satisfactory. The administration is working hard towards it. There are some gaps but can be filled in time. Kumbh Mela is the event of sadhus, sants and mahants. In a bid to make the event successful, their participation and our management are necessary,” Fadnavis said.
He asked the officials of all the departments to make documentation and digitalization of all the data.
“None of the officials will be here for the next Kumbh Mela. All the work and data should be documented and digitalised or else the officials in-charge for the next mega event will have to start everything from scratch,” the chief minister said.
About the discontent among some mahants in Trimbakeshwar, who are contemplating to boycott the event, Fadnavis said, “It is their event. They will not boycott it.”
