Job training for youths

The district-level campaign on the implementation of the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana, a project of the Union Ministry for Rural Development for providing vocational training to rural youth to ensure them employment, was inaugurated by District Collector P. Bala Kiran here on Saturday.

The campaign was inaugurated at the Krishna Menon Government Women’s College here under the aegis of the Kudumbasree Mission, the nodal agency of the project in the State. Vocational training will be provided to youths in the age group of 18-35 from BPL families. Puzhathi grama panchayat president N. Ramakrishnan presided. 11 companies participated in the programme. As many as 4,100 youths registered for the training.
