Commissioner for Revenue Administration T. S. Sridhar held a review meeting here on Saturday.

In a meeting held at the Collectorate on Saturday evening with Collector M. Karunakaran in chair, Mr. Sridhar reviewed the performance of various government departments and asked the heads to explain in detail the steps they had taken so far for implementing the Government schemes.

In a few cases, Mr. Sridhar asked the officials to expedite the work so as to take the welfare schemes to the needy.

Earlier, Mr. Sridhar participated in a similar meeting held at Tuticorin with Collector M. Ravikumar chairing it.

In the disaster management awareness meeting held at Tuticorin, Mr. Sridhar released a handbook on disaster management and recalled how Tamil Nadu had withstood the impact of natural disasters including tsunami.

“We should be well informed about these natural calamities and learn to defend ourselves from these tragedies,” Mr. Sridhar said.
