June 28, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:52 am IST - ANANTAPUR:

The Guntakal Police on Saturday arrested one Ramakrishna on the charges of capturing obscene videos of women at a marriage hall bathroom and threatening a family with uploading the footage on the net.

Though the incident took place a month ago, it came to light on Saturday. Ramakrishna recorded the video footage by a spy camera which he had installed in the bathroom of the Paritala Sreeramulu marriage hall in the housing board colony of Guntakal. Just before the marriage was about to be solemnised, father of the bride received an anonymous phone call demanding Rs. 5 lakh. The caller threatened that he would upload the videos on the net, if the money wasn’t paid. Father of the bride lodged a complaint with the Guntakal police. After a month-long investigation, police on Saturday traced Ramakrishna as the anonymous caller and took him into custody.

The owners of the marriage hall was also being questioned.
