: Veteran Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Odisha Assembly Narasingha Mishra demanded that the Election Commission of India should investigate into the allegation made by a top cop that large amounts of unaccounted cash was seized by the police during the 2014 general elections in Odisha.

At a press conference here, Mr. Mishra pointed out that CRPF Director General Prakash Mishra, who was Director General of Police in Odisha in 2014, had mentioned about the seizure of large amounts of unaccounted cash during the 2014 general elections in a petition before the Orissa High Court. Stating that the charges made by a DGP rank officer should not be taken lightly, Mr. Mishra said the Election Commission should take note of the matter and find out whether the elections in Odisha were free and fair.
